Molly O’Halloran, Inc. is a small firm established in 2002 to provide graphics that enhance written content.
Molly grew up in Illinois and studied architecture and anthropology at the University of Notre Dame, where she learned a lot about drawing and drafting. After graduating, she spent six years as an archaeologist in the western United States, surveying and excavating in the upper Sonoran Desert, the northern Sierra Nevada, and all over the Great Basin. In the field, Molly relied on maps every day and learned to draw legible, useful, and accurate maps. She was tutored in electronic data collection and cartography and used early GIS software to create analytical maps for archaeological research reports.
Concerned with the presentation of text and graphics, Molly pursued a career in book production. She’s managed projects from short-run trade books to major textbooks, and prides herself on supplying printers with cleanly built and trouble-free files for publication.
In 2002, she launched Molly O’Halloran, Inc. and began producing maps for book pages and signs. With a network of expert editors and additional designers, the company also coordinates publishing projects such as newsletters and brochures from content development through design, production, and printing.
Molly has managed more than 100 projects on time and on budget. Clients include Knopf, Farrar, Straus & Giroux, Trinity University Press, School of American Research Press, The University of Texas Press, The Center for Research Libraries, the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum, and the Chicago Park District.
Molly lives in Austin, Texas.
